Homeschooling in the Philippines: Make Learning Exciting For Your Kids
Homeschooling is like any other
type of schooling that families are planning for adapting. Millions of families
around the world have made the decision to take their child's education into
their own hands, especially in the wake of COVID-19.
Though it is not widespread but homeschooling in the Philippines is
perfectly legal. There are a couple of different ways to homeschool as per the
Department of Education (DepEd) Home Study Program and through independent
homeschooling.
What is Homeschooling?
Parents who want to manage their
children's education to a larger degree than the present in any schooling
option are supporting homeschooling. In a specific sense, homeschooling parents
control their child's education in every detail. They will decide the
materials, books to be used, how much time the child will spend in class and in
doing homework along with many other details.
What needs to be done for homeschooling?
Homeschooling requires two
different sets. In the first set, you need to meet the legal requirements of
the state where you live. You need to check with your local board of education
before planning for homeschooling.
The second set of requirements is
collecting the resources you want to use for your homeschooling effort. Here
resources belong to a set of books and a collection of general school
supplies. You can collect books as per
the prepared curriculum or simply buy a set of books to prepare on your own.
You can have it online or many states have conventions for homeschooling where
you can buy it.
Homeschooling in the Philippines provides learning with access to
formal education by staying anywhere out of the school. Authorized parents,
guardians, or tutors take the place of the teachers as learning facilities
providers. Little Me Academy is progressive homeschooling in Philippines and
the first school in Cagayan de Oro accredited by DepEd. The school takes full
responsibility for guiding, providing manuals, instructional packages,
learners' resources.
The software used by students at
this homeschooling is Google Apps and Zoom. To access Google Classroom and
Gmail account school creates account for each student. Parents have also
accounts to access to check their child’s growth and attend weekly
consultations on Zoom.
